I'm fascinated by copyright law and public domain status because it is so insane! Just look at archive.org. All those moving images are public domain because the owners never refiled their copyright years ago. Even "Night of the Living Dead" stands in the public domain at this point. I understand why many would be offended by the racist stereotyping of these earlier works, but I don't think the answer is censorship. I think in order to know how far we've come, we have to know from where we've come. What's actually odd about SOTS is that, unlike GWTW, Uncle Remus was portrayed as a loved one of small Johnny, unlike Mammy in GWTW who was seen more as a maid, but the difference in the two remains in the studios handling the films. Great comment, T.B. I really enjoyed reading it. Do You Know Your Disney Princesses? - Blog Entry22 Mar 2006 11:49 PM Sorry guys about the broken code. Which is probably why I *don't* date. The idea of going on date after date with people who are no doubt incompatible with me in order to find a match just has never made sense to me. Two New Restaurants for Walt Disney World - Blog Entry22 Mar 2006 06:17 PM That's actually one of my number one complaints about Animal Kingdom. I also had problems with the layout until they opened up the corridor between Dinoland U.S.A. and Asia which made it A LOT easier to get around the park. I can't wait to try out the new restaurants. :-) Surviving Spring Break at Walt Disney World - Blog Entry22 Mar 2006 06:16 PM Thanks! It's a great place to vacation. Obviously, it's one of my favorites. :-) New Face of Islam -- Blogger Intro - Blog Entry22 Mar 2006 05:37 AM I am so looking forward to your posts. I admit that I know little of Islam. I am looking forward to seeing a modern woman's views on her religion and how you have adapted to converting. Oh yes, and welcome to families.com!
