I'm a proud housewife. It's a gift to be able to stay home with your kids. They were using the term as an insult. That's why it made me mad! There's nothing wrong with housewife cooking! Is Ground Turkey Better than Ground Beef? - Blog Entry04 Mar 2006 08:21 PM Turkey has virtually the same protein content as beef. Depending on the cut, a 3-ounce portion of either has between 18 and 26 grams of protein. Movie Review - "Eight Below" - Blog Entry02 Mar 2006 02:58 PM I wouldn't see this movie, not because it's sad, but because it was boring (and way too long) and the acting was bad. The dogs were great and ubercute, but I had to make myself stay awake. The Indispensable Cast Iron Skillet - Blog Entry01 Mar 2006 04:16 AM Cast iron skillets are not too expensive. A decent-size one from Target costs around $20.00, which is the low end. I see cast-iron skillets at garage sales all the time for really cheap. Don't hesitate to pick up one because they last forever and you can clean up an old one. Creating PDFs for free - Blog Entry26 Feb 2006 12:20 AM Thanks so much for this information. You just saved me a lot of research! Laura Torres Family Fun and Food Blog PDF files - Blog Entry25 Feb 2006 05:17 PM I was just wondering how to create PDF files - thanks for the information. Mostly I'm wondering how to combine a bunch of separate Illustrator files into one PDF file. Can't wait to read the rest! Laura Torres Family Fun Blogger Homemade Cat Toy - Blog Entry13 Feb 2006 03:06 PM What a cute idea! I've never heard of that game. My kids like to make pom poms and then glue on wiggly eyes and felt feet to give to friends. The cat in the picture is very fat and lazy. She will stick her arm out for this toy is it gets close enough, though! Homemade Gifts - Blog Entry08 Feb 2006 11:09 PM If you spend $15.00 on yarn for a beautiful scarf you knit yourself, that's money better spent than $10.00 on a scarf from the store, in my humble opinion. I second that idea of providing someone with a meal for a great gift. When I have a homemade casserole or lasagne in the freezer, my whole day feels more manageable! Laura Torres Family Fun Blogger Reality Shows...What You Can Still Watch With Your Kids - Blog Entry08 Feb 2006 04:31 AM I love watching the clean reality shows with my kids. We have the best discussions--I especially like the ones that are based on talent, like Project Runway or the Apprentice. There are so few shows that are even decent anymore and not all about sex, so I appreciate these shows. Valentine Classroom Cupcakes - Blog Entry03 Feb 2006 06:09 PM Some schools around the country do have rules about what you can bring in, so be sure to bring cupcakes only if the teacher has asked you, or if you get the OK. Also, many schools and classes have guidelines about bringing in potential allergens. My son is in a class with a boy with severe nut allergies, so peanut butter sandwiches or anything with nuts is strictly verboten. |
