The Adventures of Gleti

Part III

Writen By Ammey

I should have known that even the tiniest member of this family is a survivor too. Gletis escape to freedom was NOT the harbinger of his demise. I repeat, NOT the harbinger. He's ALIVE! After I wrote PART II, I started to feel a sense of peace about Gleti running away. I felt like I could really let him go. Wouldn't you know it, the little guy found Mikel, all by himself. Yes, he found Mikel .

Mikel had gone downstairs to the garage late last night to do laundry after the kids went to sleep, and all of a sudden this furry little creature came running up to him. He must have had quite a week. As soon as Khy tried to pick him up, he got scratched or bitten. Gleti drew some Khy blood. All in all, Khy really didn't deserve to be bitten, especially after trying to find & save him. Khy is ok now, and Gleti is re-hydrated. Mikel said when he put him back in his Habitrail, he went straight for the water. I don't know too many humans that can survive for over a week without food and water. There really isn't anything in the garage that he could have eaten or drank.

I don't know how Gleti did it but I am glad he did. For now, his Habitrail is taped shut until the method for his escape is discovered. He is going to get a lot of love and some fresh veggies today. We all are counting our blessings. Nobody ever thought he would be found alive and we definitely didn't think of the possibility that he would come out of hiding and run up to Mikel. He is a smart little guy. I guess Gleti realized that he wanted to come home after-all. Habitrails may not be so perfect but at least he has food, water and 5 people that lovingly gaze through his plastic shroud. We are so happy he is home.

He's even got me thinking of a new idea for a reality TV show. We could call it Hamster vs Wild, or what about Survivorhamster?
