Have Some Fun With Your Gender Reveal

Many couples eagerly await the day when they find out whether they are expecting a little girl or a little boy. With each of my pregnancies, I chose to find out my baby’s gender. Both times, I was overjoyed to learn that I was having a little boy. Unfortunately, I simply disclosed what I learned to my husband, friends, and family by talking to them. It did not occur to me that I could have done something clever to reveal the exciting news to my friends and family. If you are excited to find out the gender of your baby, … Continue reading

Since there’s only about a month left before Halloween, it’s time to get started on your costume. Need a little inspiration? If you want something comfortable, you can go for an athletic look with a tank top (or sports bra) and basketball shorts and paint your … Continue reading

Halloween Costume Ideas for Pregnant Women

Last year I was only 17 weeks pregnant when Halloween came around, so I didn’t have too much of a bump to work with on my costume. I ended up dressing as an obstetrician and wore my sister’s scrubs. Some people ended up thinking I actually worked at a hospital and didn’t have time to change. The scrubs were pretty snug around my belly, though, so it was a cute costume anyway. When you’re well into your second or third trimester during the Halloween season, costumes are hard to come by. Maternity costumes are more expensive than normal ones, which … Continue reading

Also, many doctors advise their pregnant patients to forego some hair and skin treatments during their pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Here Come the Freebies! – Week of October 6, 2011

It seems as though the number of “freebies” that are available right now are beginning to dwindle a bit. You can still find some good ones, though, if you search around long enough. This week, I found freebies on makeup, soup, bumper stickers, and more. Sephora has a printable coupon for a FREE deluxe sample of Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Pretty Amazing Lip Color in Confidence. I am not someone who has an interest in makeup, but I hear that Sephora is a good brand. In order to get this FREE sample, you have to bring the coupon to a Sephora … Continue reading

What to do With a Pumpkin

Pumpkins and other squashes are gorgeous. They’re smooth and shiny, and sometimes they are bumpy and grooved. They are the perfect addition to a fall table or the outside of a home during the Halloween and Thanksgiving seasons. You can do so much more than carve them, too! Use pumpkins or other squashes to serve food. Bake the pumpkin, then add chili or an autumn soup. When you’ve finished the soup, cut up and pumpkin and serve it with butter, or turn the whole thing into a pie after washing it. Use miniature pumpkins to hold candles at the table. … Continue reading
