Quotes for Your Halloween Scrapbook Page

As you get your little goblins, ghouls, princesses, cheerleaders, puppies, and pirates ready for this Halloween don’t forget the camera! This is one night you will want for the scrapbook. Here are some great quotes for this time theme: “Too cute to spook, but not to sweet to trick or treat”! A grandmother pretends she doesn’t know who you are on Halloween. A Renaissance faire is just an excuse to wear funny clothing and run amok. A spooking we will go! A Spooky Good Time At first cock-crow the ghosts must go Back to their quiet graves below. ~Theod… Double, … Continue reading

Halloween Costumes for Cats

Last year I wrote about Halloween costumes for dogs, Halloween food goodies for pets, and Halloween toys for pets, which included a tub full of toys for cats, but I didn’t specifically cover Halloween products for cats. So this year I thought I’d shake it up and write about Halloween costumes for cats. Halloween costumes for cats? Really? Unless my two were sedated (heavily I might add) there’s no way they’d let me dress them up. Especially not in most of the costumes I’ve seen which all seem to include head gear as part of the getup. But if your … Continue reading

The Pets Blog Week in Review for October 29 – November 4

The new format worked so well I think I’ll stick with it again this week. Ready? Here we go…let’s see what Aimee and I wrote last week: Monday, October 29 More Viral Animal Emails: Doggone Hysterical Cartoons aren’t just for the funnies anymore. These days people can share them with everyone in their email address book. I talked about some that friends had shared with me that tickled my funny bone. Common Saltwater Fish Diseases Aimee talked about the diseases that saltwater fish are susceptible too, many of which are the same that affect tropical fish. She gave a list … Continue reading

Happy Howl-oween!

Normally I look forward to Halloween. It’s one of my two most favorite holidays. I’m too old for trick or treating anymore, but it doesn’t stop me from dressing up –myself as well as Wayne and Murphy. (No way would Kitty let me even tie an orange or black bow around his neck! Tabby might though…) Except, this year I wasn’t able to go all out like I usually do with decorations and stuff because we had the house on the market. Still, I did get treats to pass out and even though Wayne won’t be with us, I have … Continue reading

Dragon’s Halloween – Dav Pilkey

Dragon’s Halloween by Dav Pilkey is the fifth book in the Dragon series, and is a great book for young readers. I love the Dragon books. They are sweet, and silly. The illustrations are worth paying attention to. You will find all sorts of extra laughs. Even though the book has simple words, the descriptions are marvelous. The book begins “It was October, and all the world was orange and brown.” Dragon’s Halloween is divided into three short chapters. In the first, Dragon searches a pumpkin patch for a pumpkin as big as a house to make into a scary … Continue reading

Hershey’s Tricks Or Treats Online

Want a fun website that is packed with more treats than tricks? Check out the Hershey Chocolate website, where you’ll find many more treats than tricks. The Hershey’s Tricks Or Treats website is a lot of fun. When you first get to the main tricks or treats page, you are greeted with a little town at night. Spooky sounds, such as the howling moon play in the background. The sound can be adjusted or turned off, but it is really not obnoxious (no eerie screams, just one or two witchy cackles and nothing really scary). Once in a while strange … Continue reading
