A Brief Look at Joe Biden’s Family Tree

Joe Biden Earlier this year, I did a series of blogs that took a brief look at the family trees of candidates who were (or who hoped to be) running for President of the United States in 2012. I am now extending the series to include the people who are running for Vice President. Here is a brief look into Joe Biden’s family tree.

The current President of the United States is Barack Obama. He is running for a second term in office, as many incumbent President’s have been known to do. President Obama is going to stick with the current Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden. Here is a brief look into the family tree of Joe Biden.

Joe Robinette Biden Jr. was born on November 20, 1942. He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. As you may have guessed from the title “Jr”, he was named after his father, Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. His mother was Catherine Eugenia Finnegan.

Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in November of 1915. Catherine Eugenia Finnegan, who was called “Jean” was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in July of 1917. Joseph and Catherine got married in 1941. This means that Joseph was 26 years old, and Catherine was 24 years old when they got married.

In 1942, Catherine and Joseph had their first child, Joe Robinette Biden Jr.. There were a total of four children in the family. Joe Biden has two brothers, James Brian Biden and Francis W. Biden, and one sister, Valerie (Biden) Owens. In 1953, the Biden family moved from Pennsylvania to Claymont, Delaware. Joseph Sr. died in September of 2002, at the age of 87. Catherine died in January of 2010, at the age of 93.

The parents of Joseph Robinette Biden Sr. are the grandparents of Joe Biden. His paternal grandmother was Mary Elizabeth Robinette. It is clear that the name Robinette is a family name that gets passed down through the generations of the Biden family. This means that both Joe Sr. and Joe Biden were named after Mary Elizabeth Robinette. Mary was born in 1893 in Baltimore, Maryland. She died in September of 1941.

Joe Biden’s paternal grandfather was Joseph H. Biden. It is also clear that the name Joseph is another family name that gets passed down through the generations. Joseph H. Biden was born in June of 1893, and died in September of 1941. Joseph H. Biden and Mary Elizabeth Robinette were married in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1914.

Joe Biden’s first wife was Neilia Hunter. The two were married in 1966. He was 24 years old. The couple had three children. Joseph R. Biden III (called “Beau”) was born in 1969. Robert Hunter Biden was born in 1970. Naomi Christina Biden was born in 1971.

When Joe Biden was 29, he became one of the youngest people to be sworn into Senate. That same year, shortly after he was elected, an auto accident killed his wife Neilia and his daughter Naomi. In 1977, Joe Biden married Jill Jacobs, who became Jill Biden. The couple had a daughter named Ashley in 1981.
