Using Decorative Scissors in Your Scrapbooking

I recently had the opportunity to check out one of my friend scrapbooking projects-when flipping through the pages of her book one of the first things that stood out to me was her use of decorative scissoring throughout the book. I own quite a few different pairs of decorative scissors. While I do pull them out to decorate books every now and then I have never used them to the level that she did-and it looked fantastic. Decorative scissors like these can be great for creating edging around background pieces of paper. If you’re new to using scissors in your … Continue reading

If you’re looking for ideas to spruce up your scrapbooking projects them stamps could be a great place to start. Stamps are a great thing to have on hand. Scrapbooking Books make for great inspiration

I often find that every few scrapbooks I create I start to get a little stagnant on new and different ideas for creating them. I’ve come of with lots of great ideas that ‘work” but doing them over and over again seems to make those things that looked amazing when they were first created start to look a little ordinary. In talking this weekend with a scrapbooking friend, she tools me she likes to pick up a new scrapbooking book every few months or so for new inspiration. Her and a few friends also share the books, so they can … Continue reading

Hannah Montana Will Return For Another Season

Get excited Hannah Montana fans…It looks like the popular Disney show Hannah Montana will be back for a fourth season. The Disney Channel reportedly struck a deal this week to continue the series which stars teenage pop-star Miley Cyrus as “Hannah.” If you’re not familiar with the series, the premise is that Hannah is a pop star who is trying to attend regular school and live life as a “normal kid” rather than a celebrity. Shooting for the third season of the show just wrapped this week, so a guaranteed fourth season will mean there’s much more Miley in store … Continue reading

iPod Shuffle: Now in Color

Later week Apple announced that they would now be offering their popular iPod Shuffle in colors. Now where there was once only silver you can get pink, orange, green, and blue. I’m on Apple’s PR mailing list so I actually got a press release for these in my inbox the morning they came out. Although I am a pretty big Apple dork my initial reaction to the release was “Big deal.” With the color change comes no more functionality, not more features.it’s the same old iPod Shuffle, except now it’s brightly colored. Just this past week I was reading an … Continue reading

How To Set Up A Firewall

In recent blogs I have talked a lot about computer security and what you need to do to keep you and your family safe from spyware and computer viruses. One important step in computer security is setting up a firewall. I think one of the main reasons people don’t have a firewall set up on their computer is because they don’t know how. If you are running Windows XP, here are instructions on how to set up a firewall on your computer: 1. Go to Start (Bottom right hand corner of the screen) 2. Go to Settings 3. Go to … Continue reading

Laptop vs. Desktop

Do you have a laptop or a desktop computer? I recently purchased a laptop computer which I absolutely love. Before I bought my previous computer I was forced with the decision “Laptop or Desktop?” I love the portability of laptops, but at the time I decided the slightly less expensive desktop computer was a better choice. Desktops are easier to upgrade, have larger hard drives and are a little more difficult to steal. At the time I made my purchase I lived in a college dorm and was concerned about the possibility of my roommate leaving our door unlocked one … Continue reading

GPS Tracking Shoes: Track Your Children From Your Computer

The local television station in my area recently did a story on the company GTX and who has managed to integrate GPS technology into tennis shoes. The shoes look like your basic tennis shoes, but have a built-in GPS system that gives parents the ability to track their children on their home or work computer whenever they are wearing the shoes. The shoes are also eqipt with a “Panic Button” that a child can press if they are in a dangerous situation and need help. When I first saw these shoes I thought they were a fabulous idea. The shoes … Continue reading
