10 Electronic Father’s Day Gift Ideas Under $100

Ah Father’s Day. June 18th is rapidly approaching. Have you done your shopping for your papa? I thought I’d share a few electronic gift ideas with everyone and I am trying to keep the price tag under one hundred dollars. Everyone’s Dad is different though and while some dads will love it, others might want you to stick with the standard tie. This list will be in random order.

Atari Flashback 2.0 w/ Bonus Pong T-Shirt – Ah, a joystick and a bright orange button, the memories the memories! Was your Pa a big fan of video games back in the day? Retro is in, and so is the old time fun with a new twist. You will get the replica consol, replica joysticks, built in 20 classic Atari games and 20 new games and a free t-shirt for less than 30 bucks! That’s what I call a deal.

Digital Camera Binoculars! – Is he a nature lover or a sportsman? With these binoculars he will be able to capture those spectacular moments outdoors! Just look through the binoculars like you normally would and then hit the shutter button and you have a digital picture of what you saw. I love combo gadgets and this is one of the niftier ones for woodsman/tech Dads. Price $79.99

Metal Detector – Yes, a metal detector. Feel like getting out and looking for buried treasure? Great for along beaches, in parks or anywhere people have been. It’s also a great way to get Daddy out walking around looking for hidden gold. Price $79.95

DVD Box Sets – This one will take a little more knowledge of your Pops than I have. Box sets are great and affordable. I honestly can’t even guess how much time I have spent enjoying box sets on DVD since they started being released. New box sets come out all the time. Most guys have a favorite show of all time. This could make a happy dad. Get some popcorn and enjoy some time together.

DVD Player – Do you need a DVD player to play those box sets? Here’s the one I have. I absolutely love it! It will play regular DVDs but what really sold me was the fact that it will play digital files from your computer or digital video camera. No special file conversion to make a VCD, although it will play those as well. Price: $58.99 and comes with free shipping.

Dremel 1100-01 Stylus Cordless Rotary Tool – New for the tool guy dad! Dremel is almost a household name when it comes to its very fast, very small power tool that has 150 different available accessories. This package comes with a 25 piece kit. Great way to get your Father started. Great for crafts and many different projects around the house and you can cut, sand, shape, drill, buff, grind, polish, rout, etch, clean and more. At $66.85 I want one and I’m not even a tool guy!

Handheld GPS Unit – Nicki wrote a great series of articles about geocaching and you can read them here. Now is a great time to give a try with the family. Go on your very own adventures. Track down and find things hidden all around your area. I’ve tried it, and it can be a ton of fun. Price $84.62.

Digital Spelling Ace – This one is actually on my shopping list. My dad loves his crossword puzzles. He also loves to call me and ask how to spell things. I hope this will help him out a bit. Price $18.71

Palm Z22 Handheld – Is it time to get into the 21st century? Does your dad lug around a day planner all the time? If it is time to go digital here is your chance. But it is so much more than just a digital planner. There is a huge selection of Palm software available, and a lot of it is free! Games, photos, address books, pictures, these handy dandy tools can do so much. And it’s specially priced at $89.99.

Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB MP3 Player Black – What kind of electronics gift suggestion article would this be without an MP3 player? Everybody loves music! This is a great entry level unit. It is very small and can hold up to 500 songs, runs on a AAA battery that lasts quite a while, and has an FM tuner and voice recorder built in as well. Price $64.97

Electronic Professional Digital Telescope w/Remote – This gift idea is similar to the binoculars but for the Dad who is looking a little higher in the sky. Take digital shots of the heavens and get out under the open stars. Don’t forget to check the weather report though! Price is $79.95

What are you getting your Dad for Father’s Day and what are your suggestions? Let’s hear em!
