Want to attend what is billed as “the nation’s largest eco-friendly trade and consumer lifestyle showcase?” If you live in New York City, you are in luck! The Go Green Expo will be in NYC from March 19 – 21 at Pier 92. Adults can get a weekend pass for $25, but if you visit The Daily Green, you can find a code to save you $15.
What is going to happen at the Go Green Expo? First of all, there will be green celebrities such as Ed Begley Jr. (star of Planet Green’s show “Living with Ed”), Mariel Hemingway (who promotes healthy living options on her web page), and Matthew Modine (who founded Bicycle for a Day with the goal is to reduce carbon emissions).
In addition, there will be 29 other speakers including Ana Paula Tavares (senior vice president worldwide of Rainforest Alliance), Cheryl Perez (owner, co-founder, and director Think Green Make Green), Dan Shapley (environmental journalist and senior editor at The Daily Green), David Kistner (owner of Green Apple Cleaners), and Davida Heller (sustainability specialist and founder/CEO of Ecospire).
Among the presentations will be Greening Your Business, Green Entrepreneurs: Case Studies in Success, Earth Day’s 40th Anniversary & Unveiling of “The E Campaign,” Living Eco-logically, Young People & the Environment, State of My Environment, Eco-Fashion & Lifestyle.
In addition, there will be over 200 booths and exhibits by Marcal Manufacturing (I love using their paper products), Volkswagen, 1-800-GOT-JUNK (because don’t’ forget – uncluttering is green!), 1st Light Energy, 50 Year Organic Paint, Aquafree, Cot’nWash, RiverKeeper, Red Handed Bags, Recircle Brands, Recycle Tech Corp., Parable Ink, Organic Pure Life, and Jonano Eco Chic Collections.
If you aren’t near or in NYC, don’t despair. There will also be Go Green Expos held in Philadelphia (April 16 – 18) and Atlanta (May 21 – 23).
