Building relationships is important, and keeping the lines of communication open is even more important. Reminding loved ones that they are loved is a great way to keep the lines of communication open. It is also an awesome way to keep families happy, relationships loving and just generally make people smile. So here are a few fun ways to say I love you in your family.
Say It With Flowers
I’m not talking about giving someone a bouquet, although that works too. But a really fun and exciting way to let someone you know you love them, is to plant flowers in a garden that spells out their name, or “I love you” or simply in a heart shape. Get creative and watch them smile when the flowers bloom.
Tell the DJ
Call the local radio station and request a song just for your child. Be sure they are listening at the time the song plays. If you won’t be around, record it so they can hear it later. If you cannot do this, you might make your child a mixed tape in which you pick your favorite songs for them and even narrate in between the songs.
Make a Video or Scrapbook
Whether its digitally and put into a video or you just create a small “What I Love About You” album, your child will cherish it for a lifetime. Remind them of their best qualities and the things that they do that make you the most proud.
Put It In the Lunch Box
A note tucked into your child’s lunch box is one way to say “I love you”, but another fun way is to cut food into the shape of a heart or carve the words in a piece of fruit (oranges work well).
Make Dinner Together
Allow your child to pick the dinner menu, and then make it extra special by allowing them to help. Don’t forget some cookies, cake or cupcakes for dessert. Your child will cherish the special time with you, and enjoy the meal too!
