A Few Ideas for Fourth of July

What are you doing for Fourth of July? Will you be entertaining guests at home, at your summer home, or at another location? Maybe you have been invited to be a guest at someone else’s home or getaway.

Whatever you have planned, you might like some of these ideas:

Fourth of July Flowers

Even though it might be a little late to plant flowers from seeds, you can pick up some starter plants in red, white, and blue. You can find candy striped roses in red or white, or look for red and white amaryllis. For blues, look for blue iris or hyacinth or ask for help at a local nursery, garden center, or home improvement center. You can grab some starter plants and either plant them in the ground creating a festive pattern, put them in separate containers so you can move them wherever you like, or add a mixture or separate red flowers, white flowers, and blue flowers to a large decorative planter. Place the planter in the area in which you will be entertaining. A small planter filled with red, white, and blue flowers will also make a great hostess gift if you are visiting someone on the Fourth of July.

Festive Fourth of July Lights

These days, there are lights for every occasion. It’s no longer an issue of “Christmas lights still out in July,” no, there are now strings of lights and rope lights made especially for each holiday or occasion. Adding colorful lights will of course add a festive feel to your get together, and these too make great hostess gifts. Look for other light up elements such as stars and flags if you don’t want rope lights or don’t feel like stringing lights. Look for paper covered party lanterns in red, white, and blue as well.

*Fourth of July will be here before you know it, so start looking around and getting creative now!
