A Few of My Favorite Things

A Few of my Favorite Things

There are a few scrapbooking tools that that I use on almost every layout. I’d like to share them with you and let you know why I like them so much.

Making Memories Magnetic Stamps

If you are a seasoned scrapper, I’m sure that you are seen or used these great stamps. I have used them around friends lately and they have instantly fallen in love with the versatility these offer. You use the magnetic stamp base and then can spell and word you want with the individual magnetic letters. Making Memories currently sells 4 fonts individually, each retailing for $14.99. The magnetic stamp base is also $14.99. If you use a coupon at a craft store, it makes these stamps extremely affordable.

I like to use the stamps to create titles, emphasize words on my journaling and label pictures.

Stampin’ Up’s Stampin’ Write Markers

These markers have been with me for over 5 years now and only one of them has needed to be replaced after drying out. I love that with 48 colors to choose from, one is always going to match my layout. These are duel-tipped with a journaling pen on one end and a marker on the other end. It is recommended that you store these markers horizontally, as you should store all markers this way to insure that the ink stays evenly dispersed. You can buy these from a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator. I actually bought mine on eBay and I was able to save quite a bit of money.

Daylight Lamp

Have you ever considered that the lighting in your scrapbook area may be inadequate? My light is provided from a light kit attached to a ceiling fan. I knew it wasn’t great, but I made it work. Then my husband gave me a Daylight Scrapbook Lamp. I am amazed at the difference I can see in the colors of my paper and photos. These lamps are made so that you can accurately view colors and details, which reduces strain on the eyes. I highly recommend upgrading the lighting in your scrap area if you haven’t already done so. This retails for $108.00, but my husband bought mine through a craft store online with a 40% off coupon.
