A Scrapbook of Thankfulness

One of my favorite things to do around Thanksgiving is research into different ways we can incorporate a spirit of thankfulness in my home. I have heard of all kinds of ideas, such as having a jar available where everyone in the family can write on a scrap of paper why they are thankful for another family member.

Some families when they gather for their Thanksgiving meal will go around the table and express what they are thankful for. There are really so many ideas and I wish I could use them all.

However I have scrapbooking on my mind. I purposely made sure that I was able to take time off from work the day after Thanksgiving so I could do something fun, like scrapbook. Every year I spend the day after Thanksgiving decorating my home for Christmas. But this year I have decided to set that day aside to capture memories of Thanksgiving.

I am going to create a Thanksgiving scrapbook. My layout will include leaves from around my home. I plan on preserving them. There are a number of ways you can do this. If you are interested just do a search on Google.

I am going to dedicate one page for every member of my family that gathers for Thanksgiving. It will include a picture of them and on some papers, torn around the edges, what they are thankful for. I am hoping that each person will be able to come up with at least 10 things they are thankful for.

This Thanksgiving book is going to contain nothing but a recounting of all our blessings. It may also serve as a great reminder throughout the year when things aren’t going so well. I will just pull the book out, go to that family member’s page and remind them of all the things they have to be thankful for.

What ideas do you have for creating a Thanksgiving scrapbook?
