Some of the quintessential love songs of all times have come from popular country music singers, such as Patsy Cline, Deanna Carter and Garth Brooks. The songs from these award-winning singers speak of undying love and unrequited passion. In fact, some fans would go as far as to say that the hit country crooners put into words the feelings they have bottled up inside.
Scrapbooking song lyrics is similar to embellishing pages with famous quotes. If the words fit in with the theme of the page or they add poignancy to a photo, then there is no reason you shouldn’t include them in the design. I’ve seen wedding scrapbooks filled with Garth Brooks lyrics from chart-topping love songs such as Unanswered Prayers, The Dance, and Shameless. The latter’s lyrics speak to the lengths lovers go for their sweethearts. The same lyrics could also be used in a Valentine’s Day scrapbook. Simply use a calligraphy pen to add your favorite lyrics as a page border or stamp them around a photo to make a frame of lyrics.
I will admit that I am not immune to the strains of country music. I actually have a scrapbook that I made in college which features lyrics from I Will Always Love You. The song was originally written and recorded in the 1970s by Dolly Parton, but Whitney Houston recorded a cover for the Bodyguard soundtrack in the 1990s. The page includes a couple verses of the song printed from the CD in a fancy font. I used most of the lyrics as a page border, but there are a couple of lines that I found a way to shape into a heart. Inside of the heart is a photo of an ex-boyfriend I haven’t seen or spoken to since college.
Ah, young love.
