ALF Arrives on DVD May 30th

One of my favorite shows growing up was ALF. Back when I was younger the show came on during prime time and I would be anxiously waiting beside the television to see what antics ALF would be up to that night.

The basic premise behind the show is that ALF an alien from the planet Melmac is living with a family on earth. Melmac exploded leaving Alf homeless, so he has made his home with the Tanner’s. 229 year old Alf’s real name is Gordon Shumway, but the Tanner children nicknamed him ALF (Alien Life Form). The Tanner’s are your average American family with a husband, wife and two children and older daughter Lynn and a younger son Brian.

The show aired for four years from 1986-1990. On every episode of the show ALF seems to get himself involved in some sort of trouble, and the Tanner’s have to fix the problems ALF has created while covering up the fact that they are harboring an alien in their home.

ALF is one of those sitcoms from the late 80’s before popular culture started making prime time inappropriate for younger viewers. I feel like the entire ALF series is one that your entire family can sit down and watch without worrying if something inappropriate is going to occur that your younger child shouldn’t see.

I absolutely love ALF and can guarentee you and your children will love this blast back into the eighties.

Season 3 of Alf is released on DVD May 30th. The four DVD set has twenty seven different episodes of the hit telelvision show. The show stars Max Wright,(Willie Tanner) Anne Schedeen (Kate Tanner), Andrea Elson (Lynn Tanner), and Benji Gregory (Brain Tanner) and Paul Fusco as the voice of ALF.
