Amazon Children’s Book Sale

It’s an addiction. Books, that is. It’s gotten to the point where I’m supposed to give away one book every time I bring another into the house. Supposed to, that is. At today’s Boy Scout rummage sale, I bought a whole shelf load. Of course, I’m justifying it by the price, but I really can’t get enough of books! Maybe it’s better described as a life-long love affair. Books take you to places you’ll never get to visit in person, allow you to think through situations you’d otherwise never encounter, and teach you things you could never have imagined. They are like little mini-vacations.

We read a lot as children, and my mother and older siblings read to us, too. I’m sure it had a lot to do with our academic prowess. If you like to read to your children, or would like to start, Amazon has a deal for you. Right now, many of their children’s books have been marked down, some to less than a dollar. On top of the markdown, every fourth book is free (they’ll deduct the lowest priced one, of course). If you have Amazon Prime, you should order books in sets of four, grouped by like prices. In other words, if you have four books that are $8 each and four books that are $2 apiece, ordering them all together means that two of the $2 ones are free. If you order them in like groups, a $2 and an $8 book will come off.

Here’s what I bought for my first order: Thanksgiving is for Giving Thanks. Originally $3.99, now .80. The Night Before Thanksgiving. Same low price. My First Thanksgiving, marked down 80% to $1.40; and Bats ($.80). Total price, shipped is $3.00. I can hardly beat that after haggling at a yard sale, and certainly couldn’t do better on NEW books. So stock up now. Whether your kids read them over the summer, or you save them for the school year, Amazon’s providing adventure at a great price.
