Anatomy Of A Celebrity Divorce

Let’s face it, in Hollywood, stars are used to doing things their way. So, it should come as no surprise to hear some of the “unusual” ways celebrities deal with the demise of their marriages.

For example, according to PEOPLE magazine Shanna Moakler, former “Meet The Barkers” star and “Dancing with the Stars” contestant made the best of her split from Travis Barker with a recent divorce party at the Las Vegas nightclub Light at the Bellagio.

A divorce party? Sound strange? Not to Moakler who told the magazine she had been to a few of her friend’s prior to hosting her own (what some called) an oddly themed bash. Moakler told PEOPLE: “I don’t have any regrets about doing it. I am who I am and I make my own decisions. I totally respect people’s opinions. I never thought I would be getting a divorce. I never thought I’d be here. At the end of the day, this isn’t the worst thing in my life. People go through it every day. I respect people’s opinions, but this is my opinion. This is how I’m showing the world that divorce is okay. It doesn’t have to be the end of your life.”

According to the magazine, the mother of three young children hung out with a group of girlfriends all night, and munched on a three-tiered “divorce cake,” which featured a miniature fierce-looking blonde in a wedding dress on top, and a tiny groom sprawled at the bottom.

Moakler was served with divorce papers from her husband, Travis Barker, the former drummer for blink-182, in August.

Another Hollywood star that spent a ton of time on the covers of various tabloids during his separation is actor Charlie Sheen. When his former wife, actress, Denise Richards filed for divorce things got U-G-L-Y! (Accusations were hurled, names were called, and personal items were seized…)

But, now that the divorce has been finalized Sheen is singing a different tune. In an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airing tomorrow, Charlie Sheen talks about working things out with Richards, for the sake of their kids –2-year-old Sam and 1-year-old Lola.

“We’re trying to put all that nonsense aside and just do what’s right for the children and just be good responsible parents,” Sheen told DeGeneres.

Sheen also revealed that he’s happy that Richards is dating Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora.

”At least I knew the guy that she wound up with, Richie. To know that it’s somebody decent and smart and a good parent to be around your children, that’s a good thing,” said Sheen.

Ironically, Richards and Sheen formerly lived in the same Southern California neighborhood as Sambora and his then-wife, Heather Locklear.
