Angus T. Jones Strikes It Rich

You may have read the title and thought “Angus Who?” but if I tell you Angus T. Jones plays Jake on “Two and a Half Men,” you would probably go “Ah…yeah.”

Angus had not appeared in much when he signed up for “Two and a Half Men” in 2003 – a few episodes on a couple of different television shows and a made-for-television movie. But then again, he was only ten years old at the time.

Since then, viewers have literally seen Angus grow from childhood to young adulthood (he just turned 17) before their eyes. Along the way, he’s made quite a fortune for himself.

It was announced this week that Angus became the highest paid child actor on television. He signed a 26 episode contract deal with CBS that will pay him $300,000 per show. He also got a guarantee of $7.8 million over the next two seasons and oh yeah, a signing bonus of $500,000. Because Angus is still a minor, the contract had to be approved by an L.A. County Superior Court Judge, who probably wished he was making as much money. Not too bad for a kid, huh? That is just the guaranteed money. He could make as much as double that if two more full seasons are ordered.

So what does this mean? To put it in perspective, Angus will earn more than popular television stars Miley Cyrus (star of “Hannah Montana”), Miranda Cosgrove (star of “iCarly”), and Demi Lovato (star of “Sonny with a Chance”) combined. Take that Disney!

Of course, Angus is still making less than his co-stars. If you think his salary is a bit obscene, remember that Charlie Sheen will make $52 million (that breaks down to $2 million per episode) for two seasons while Jon Cryer will make just over half of Charlie’s salary.
