April 2009 General Conference Dates

The annual Young Women’s broadcast will be held on March 28, 2009. The meeting will start at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. The meeting will be broadcast via satellite feed to local meetinghouses. If you live outside of the United States your local leaders may show the broadcast at a later date.

General Conference will be held April 4 and April 5, 2009. The sessions will begin at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time for both Saturday and Sunday. Additionally a Priesthood meeting will be held Saturday evening at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. The Priesthood meeting will only be broadcast in your local meetinghouses and Stake Centers.

You can watch the general sessions of conference at your local meetinghouses, online at BYUTV or at the church’s website. Additionally you can watch it on the BYU channel available on both Dish Network and DirectTV. Many local cable channels also broadcast it as a community service, so be sure to check with your local leaders if this is available to you. Last October’s session of conference was easy to access online and it stayed on with very few glitches. This was the general consensus of everyone I know that watches conference online across the world.

If you are looking for other ways to share the gospel you may invite a friend, neighbor or coworker to attend a conference session with you. The church has also created a YouTube page with videos on various doctrines of the church. The page is called Mormon Messages. This is a great resource and reference. You should learn what is available to you, in case you need to turn to the videos while you are discussing the gospel with someone. Of course you can also refer people who want to know more to www.mormon.org. This site offers basic information about the church to investigators.
