Are You Overscheduled?

Would you consider yourself to be someone who is overscheduled? So because of that, housework is the last thing on your mind?

Some people don’t get enough sleep because of everything they have to accomplish in a day. That is a sign of being overscheduled.

Do you drink several cups of coffee a day in order to keep you “alert”? It can actually contribute to having mood swings and cause other health problems. This is a sign of being overscheduled.

Do you find it difficult to say no? To turn down opportunities to help someone or to get involved in everything that comes your way? This is a sign of being overscheduled.

Do you find your own needs being neglected (eating right, taking time to exercise, to rest, to develop relationships)? Yep, this is yet another sign of being overscheduled.

Is your home cluttered? Is it difficult to find things? Do you see piles everywhere? You are overscheduled.

Do you sometimes have to put on something dirty to wear because the laundry is behind? Or do you have to quick throw your shirt in the dryer to de-wrinkle it? You are overscheduled.

Overscheduling your life is not healthy but it also means that something has to be neglected and for many people, it is their home. However you get stuck in a vicious cycle because when you walk into your home and it’s a mess, your stress is amplified.

Stress and mess don’t mix well together. You feel defeated. But you can become victorious if you learn to manage your life better. Cleaning and organizing your home first begins with cleaning and organizing your life.

If overscheduling yourself is getting in the way of having a clean, orderly home…then it’s time to learn to say no, to cut away those things that aren’t beneficial and to empower yourself.

We will be looking more at how you do this in the next few blogs.
