Attitude Check!

So, what’s your attitude today? Are you optimistic? Positive? Motivated? Happy? Frustrated? Ready to give up? Passive?

Your attitude = success. So, if you are positive, you will have a positive day today. If you are frustrated, your business won’t get far.

Attitude works in a few different ways, both internally and externally. That is why having, or even faking, a good attitude can make the difference between success and failure.

INTERNAL
Your internal attitude is like your prophesy. If you feel you are unstoppable, you will be unstoppable. Those who have positive attitudes get things done not because they are amazing, but because they feel good about themselves and have not given themselves a reason to feel otherwise.

So someone who says “I can sell that, piece of cake” will go out and sell it.

Now a negative attitude can be deadly to your success. If you feel you suck, well you do. End of story. If you say “I’ll never be good at that. I can’t sell.” Guess what, you are a horrible sales person. Don’t even try unless you change the way you perceive yourself in that situation.

EXTERNAL
Your attitude is also important to your external influences. Others will read off of your body language and subliminal messages you are sending.

Some someone who goes into a room confident and excited is much more likely to have a positive influence on those around them and close the deal.

If you walk in hunched over and negative, refusing to make eye contact, well you just showed that you are not invested in this opportunity and the other party has no reason to work with you.

In direct sales, attitude is extremely important. I hear stories back about my consultants from friends who attend one of their parties. They tell me who is a good consultant and who they feel won’t make it because of they way they hold themselves in the front of the room.

Though I can coach someone to success by telling them what and how to do it, I still can not figure out how to help those who don’t believe in themselves. I have seen some amazing things when I watch a person get motivated and begin to believe in themselves, but it takes an attitude change.
