My new scrapbook obsession is self-adhesive paper. The revolutionary product has opened up a new world to me, especially since I often scrapbook on the fly. Working with sticky back paper is convenient and mess-free.
I purchased my paper at Michaels since I had a 40 percent off coupon, but you can also find it at Hobby Lobby, local scrapbook supply stores, and online. The Home Shopping Network has self adhesive cardstock, while Scrapbooking Supplies Online carries self-adhesive mulberry paper. Those options are only a couple of the dozens of varieties available. The sticky paper comes in a variety of shapes, colors, and sizes.
I bought 8 1/2 x 11 sticky backed scrapbook paper that was thin enough to run through my ink jet printer without any problems. However, you can also purchase self-adhesive paper cut to mat 4 x 6 and 5 x 7 photos. Self-adhesive vellum is also popular, mainly because it’s often hard to find a decent clear adhesive to work with the transparent paper.
So far, I’m loving my new paper. It’s quite liberating not having to worry about hunting down expensive acid-free adhesive. What’s more, you can’t beat the convenience the paper offers. Self-adhesive scrapbook paper saves you from the pain of adding glue to tiny punched shapes, and it works with a Sizzix to make die cut shapes.
Sticky back scrapbook paper is also ideal for crafters who attend a lot of crops. Rather than packing up a bunch of messy adhesives, all you have to do is bring along a stack of self-adhesive scrapbook paper. Finally, the sticky paper can’t be beat if you are working with young children. The product is so much easier for kids to work with than applying other adhesives to photos, mementos and embellishments.
