Baked Oatmeal with Sauteed Apples

Baked Oatmeal with Sauteed Apples
Great way to start the weekend.

INGREDIENTS:
3 cup old fashioned oats
1 cup brown sugar, packed (1/4 cup reserved)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 cup milk
1 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
2 large eggs, beaten
3 medium tart green apples, peeled and thinly sliced
2 tbs butter
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Dash salt

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 375F. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; set aside.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine oats, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
3. In another bowl combine milk, melted butter and eggs; mix well. Pour into oat mixture and stir until just mixed. Spread in prepared baking pan.
4. Bake for 25 minutes.
5. Meanwhile saute apples in a heavy skillet in butter. Add brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves and salt. 6. Cover skillet and cook over low heat about 20 minutes or until apples are tender.
7. Serve with baked oatmeal.

Cook: 25 minutes
