Blowup Pool

frog pool

Last summer I bought my toddler daughter a blowup pool. It was really cute with a sprayer and a slide. She had fun in it all of one time, if I remember correctly. A bad windstorm blew through our area and took our pool to our neighbor down the street. We ended up with another neighbor’s pool. Unfortunately, our pool met with a popped end.

This summer I wanted to get a decent sized above-ground-pool. There are so many regulations on even above-ground pools for foster homes that I decided to not bother. I may still get the one I have my eyes on, but make sure to drain it when we’re not using it.

My friend had a simple plastic pool for the children to play in at her daughter’s first birthday party. Jessie had an absolute blast splashing with the other kids who were there. I looked into getting a similar pool, but it turned out to cost almost as much as a new blowup pool. I decided on a pool shaped like a frog. Frog is one of the signs that Jessie consistently makes, so I thought she’d enjoy a frog of her own. There’s a nozzle to screw in the hose and a water spray comes out of the frog’s head.

Jessie has been having a lot of fun with her new pool. None of her neighbor friends have been able to join her yet, but we’ll keep inviting them. Jessie has some of her tubby toys in the pool, but most of her playing is jumping and splashing around in a way that she can’t in the tub.

As much as I’d like to be able to go swimming, I get enough enjoyment watching Jessie. So far we’ve had pool time after her nap. The $15 I spent on this pool has been a good investment.
