Book Review: Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson 2

As scrapbookers, we are always looking for new sources of inspiration. I recently picked up Scrapbooking with Lisa Bearnson Book 2 hoping to find some fresh ideas and more motivation to keep working on my scrapbooks.

I like the way the book is organized by seasons. There are tabs dividing the sections into Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Idea Gallery. This organization works well when looking for ideas because the colors and themes we tend to scrapbook usually fit into seasonal categories such as snow pictures in the winter and beach pictures in the summer.

The layouts are by Lisa Bearnson and several other scrapbook designers. Next to each layout Lisa tells us what she loves about the layout. She focuses on one detail that stands out to her. I really like this because she helped me take notice of things that I may have overlooked.

Each two-page spread includes an inspirational quote. I love quotes and so I thought this was a great addition to the book.

The book has a hard cover with spiral binding. Spiral bound idea books are great because you can set the book out on your scrap space and have the book open to an inspiring idea without worrying about the book flipping closed.

This book includes some great extras. It comes with a font CD with 20 of Lisa’s favorite fonts. It is compatible with both PC and MAC. They are cool fonts that include a label font (like you would make with a label maker), barcode, great journaling fonts and more. It is a nice variety.

A 6 x 6 album is included with everything that you need to complete it. This album follows the format of the book because it has layouts for each season and then a favorite photos layout at the end. I love kits because you can put together such a nice project in a minimal amount of time.

The retail price of the book is $34.95. This is a higher price than most idea books, but since it includes a font CD and album project, the price seems fair.
