Boy Gets Revenge on “Bad Dad”

Subtitle: Pi*sing off kids comes with consequences.

Here’s a story that may make you think twice about the way you treat your kids:

UK resident William Ireland has so much disdain for his father that even when the elderly man died he couldn’t bury his hatred. Rather than let bygones be bygones, William cremated his old man, and then sold his father’s ashes on eBay.

In the product description portion of the online auction site William wrote: “Here are the ashes of my father, Kenneth Ireland, an adulterer who left a wife, two children and just £17 in her pocket. He never paid a penny towards his kids’ upbringing.”

Apparently, when William was six, his dad left his wife and two kids for another woman. However, father and son reconnected roughly 40 years later. “When I found him we started seeing each other then he died in 2006. I found out his estate was going to the woman he left my mother for and their son. I thought he might have made it up to me, or someone in our family. Obviously he never cared.”

Proving that bitterness is a hard pill to swallow and resentments can last well after death, William paid for his dad’s funeral, and acquired his parent’s ashes. Then, in an act of revenge, the 50-year-old decided to sell his father’s ashes on eBay with a starting bid of 99 pence (about $1.65), which is, according to William, “way more” than his father was worth alive.

William’s tale makes me wonder if the same fate is in store for a “bad mom” in Arkansas.

According to reports, a mom in Fort Smith drank 13 beers before taking psychological evaluation, which could have helped her recover custody of her three young children from her husband’s stepmother.

The woman reportedly told authorities that she wasn’t drunk because she “can drink like a fish.”

Needless to say, the kids are not with their mom right now. Rather, an Arkansas court rejected her appeal, citing addictions, frequent absences and criminal activity to support her habits. It said the woman made no meaningful efforts to restructure her life.

The woman’s children, who are 6, 4 and 2, were taken into custody in 2007 when the woman’s mother said she could no longer care for the kids.

Hopefully, the lush… I mean, mom… can make amends with her kids before she dies.
