Budokon or Pogo Bootcamp? What’s around the next creative corner?

We’ve talked about the boredom that some people experience when they do the same routine over and over again. People talk about it enough that all the gyms, dance and yoga studios and sports clubs are working hard to capture the short attention spans of the adults who are running from responsibility to responsibility. In that vein, they are adding some interesting classes to their repertoire to get you in the door and to keep you coming back.

Among some of their offerings you’ll be seeing at your local gyms and sports clubs includes:

  • Bodukon
  • African Dance
  • Brazilian Martial Arts
  • Karaoke Spin
  • Pogo Bootcamp
  • Stilleto Strength
  • Hip Hop Dancing
  • IntenSati
  • Tai Chi
  • And More

Personally speaking, I don’t even know what half of these classes are and yet the gyms know that people who take classes at their gyms or studios are 75% more likely to renew their gym memberships. Fitness classes are a great way to generate camaraderie and relaxation among the members, as well as inspiration to come back again and again to take another class.

The multitude of opportunities is a great opportunity for all of us looking for something to excite us and keep us interested. January is approaching and this is the hottest month in the fitness club world for clients of gyms and sports clubs. Millions will sign up in order to meet their own New Year’s Resolution of getting in shape, losing weight or more.

Of those who sign up, more than 50% will drop before the beginning of March. So these gyms have less than two months, on average – 8 visits to get their new members interested and hooked on these classes they are offering. The more classes a gym has, the more likely they are to hold onto their clients than a gym that just offers equipment.

So what new fitness classes have you tried out?
