My second grader is ready for the Easter Bunny to come hippity-hopping up our driveway tonight.
Fortunately, the bunny has about 10 more days to get his act together before he has to make his late-night delivery.
In the meantime, to quell my kid’s hankering for chocolate-covered Easter fun, I’ve got her working on these adorable bunny-themed projects:
BUNNY PINS
Materials:
1 round, flat piece of craft wood*
2 large teardrop-shaped pieces of craft wood*
2 small teardrop-shaped pieces of craft wood*
Wood glue
Pin
Paint
Googly eyes
Black Sharpie
*Hobby Lobby and Michaels sells craft wood pieces individually and in sets.
Directions:
Paint the round wood piece and the two larger teardrops white, and the smaller teardrop pieces pink.
Use wood clue to attach the pink wood pieces to the white pieces. These are the bunny’s ears.
Glue the ears to the head.
Glue on the eyes.
Use the black Sharpie to draw on the bunny’s nose and mouth.
Glue the pin to the back of the bunny’s head.
Use the pin to spice up a plain Easter basket or wear it with your Easter Sunday outfit.
BUNNY PENCIL HOLDER
Materials:
Clean soup can or other canned good
Cotton balls
Pipe Cleaners
Pompoms
Googly eyes
Glue
Directions:
Cover can with glue and adhere cotton balls over entire surface making sure that you can’t see any part of the can under the cotton balls.
Shape pipe cleaners into ears and glue on top of can.
Glue on eyes.
Glue on pompom for nose.
Cut pipe cleaners into six pieces each measuring one-inch long.
Glue pipe cleaners around nose for whiskers.
Wait until glue is completely dry before adding pencils and pens to the holder.
