I have heard it said a few times before that women are attracted to men who treat them badly or that women are not “into” nice guys.
This of course is a ridiculous idea, right? What woman would say that she wants a man to treat her badly or that she does not appreciate being pampered by a sweet male?
While I really do think that there are not many women who will admit it, there is some truth to the sayings listed at the beginning of this article.
After thinking about how many relationships work, perhaps women are a bit fascinated by a rough and tough guy. Abuse and physical mistreatment are not what I have in mind. Yet I do think that men who have a particular edge about them turn on a lot of women. These men are males who are not so wrapped up in their women.
Perhaps the care-free personality makes women feel slightly insecure in their relationship and therefore they work harder to ensure that they keep their man.
All through high school I knew many sweet, caring, loving males. Somehow they never got the girl. Just as many television shows will display, these guys always end up as the friend who is there to be the shoulder to cry on.
I think that some women who have men who are completely consumed with them lose interest and become bored in the relationship. Maybe the excitement of the chase is no longer there.
I also think that all of these rules change after marriage. The type of man that we are attracted to when we are single and dating is different than the kind of man that we desire after marriage and children.
The sweet husband and helpful father can then play a very important role in our lives.
