Can YOU Get Organized? (Ha!)

Well, you can try and, as a famous cartoon cricket used to say, a dream is a wish your heart makes. And here are two helpful tips that personify the old saying: “don’t do as I do, but do as I say.” Check out these easy organization projects, which will hopefully encourage you to do more.

1. Purge your email.

Pretend you are a Russian tsar at war with your enemies known to the polite world as SPAM and UNANSWERED E-MAILS (not to mention inconsiderate members of the royal family). I have three words for this problem: Purge, purge and then purge some more. Email can be just as frustrating as physical clutter even though it’s unlikely you will ever trip over it. You still must address the problem. (Hello, email.) Allow some time on a day off to delete those messages you no longer need and move those you want into separate folders. Unsubscribe to any lists or groups that don’t interest you, and try to designate some time every week to do this to prevent the situation from rearing its cluttered head again.

2. Clean out your purse, briefcase and wallet

How many times have you looked for something in your wallet and not been able to find it? (Tell the truth now. For me, it’s almost an everyday occurrence.) This problem is worse for women than for men because the whole matter of the purse comes into play and men don’t have to worry about that (most men). Maybe it’s time to buy a new wallet? I warn you that if you do, it won’t stop there, for how can you put a beautiful new wallet into a tacky purse or briefcase? Get rid of those expired lottery tickets, train schedules, pens that don’t work, used matches, gum and cotton swabs! Don’t waste any more time. Do it now!

Stay tuned for some more tips tomorrow (if I can find my computer). Any more you would like to add?

Be My Guest.
