Celebrities Cut to the Chase—How Refreshing!

Whoever said time heals all wounds obviously never broke off an engagement to Brad Pitt.

I admit I have never been Gwyneth Paltrow’s biggest fan, but I must say I respect her honesty, especially when it comes to her dealing with questions regarding her failed relationship with the bodacious Brad Pitt.

A couple of days ago while Paltrow was walking the red carpet at the L.A. premiere for her new movie “Iron Man,” a TV reporter asked if she had any well wishes to share with her one-time fiancé who is about to be a dad for the fifth time.

Instead of following in the footsteps of the countless other celebrity exes who have gone before her paying the obligatory “I-wish-them-the-best” lip service, the towering actress reportedly twisted her mouth and firmly declared, “No!”

I love it.

Talk about refreshing. Frankly, I find it inexplicable (see: so fake) when a longtime celebrity couple suddenly splits and then shows up at media events wishing each other “great happiness in his/her life.”

Puh-leeze.

And to the reporters who have tried to apologize for Paltrow’s answer speculating that perhaps the Shakespeare In Love star was in a bad mood or just didn’t feel like talking about her former flame—-get a grip.

Paltrow refused the opportunity to congratulate her Se7en co-star because she simply didn’t want to blow hot air into the night sky.

I thank her for it… and I’m sure the environment does too.

And props go out to John Stamos who didn’t beat around the bush when addressing rumors that he plans star in an ER spin-off when the medical drama ends next season.

The actor, who plays Dr. Tony Gates on the hit NBC drama, shot straight from the hip telling reporters he plans to hang up his scrubs for good.

Stamos told TV’s Extra, “I think when they’re done, I’m ready to go off into the sunset.”

And he won’t be the only one doing so. Stamos’ co-star, Maura Tierney, recently said she’s ready to ditch her character, Dr. Abby Lockhart, as well.
