A Little Reality TV to Help Inspire Weight Loss
I’ll let everyone in on a little secret…I love Reality TV. Yes, along with Starbucks, gossip mags and french fries, I can’t always get enough. Survivor, check. Amazing Race, seen every episode. And so what, I even got sucked into BOTH Apprentices this Fall.
However, I think VH1’s Celebrity Fit Club that is a beneficial blurb and is pretty darn inspiring. This January marks Celebrity Fit Club’s third season, and this time around eight overweight celebrities compete in two teams of four to lose weight. This seasons cast includes Bruce Vilanch, Chastity Bono, Kelly LeBrock, Tempestt Bledsoe, and Young MC, just to name a few.
Celebrities attend the now famous “Fit Camp” where they take part in a wide range of grueling mental and physical tasks that are designed specifically to make them shed the pounds. Each episode has the infamous “Weigh In Ceremony” where the EXTREMELY brave celebrities get up and weigh themselves (ON NATIONAL TV!) and are judged by the CFC panel, which includes their trainer, a doctor and a psycologist. Their goal: whomever loses the most weight wins some serious garb.
Now for those of you who are skeptical, I really do think Celebrity Fit Club is so much more than your everyday cheesy reality TV show. It goes to show that even those who are rich and famous—and have personal chefs and personal trainers at their fingertips, struggle, like many of us do, with weight. You get to see that there is so much more to just cutting calories and exercising to shed the pounds. You’ve got to ultimately change your lifestyle to be successful at permanent weight loss—and that’s exactly what CFC does.
CFC has some great tips and gives us an hour long dose of motivation
