Celebrity Weekend Wrap Up

You may not have their fat checkbooks, but I bet you still had a better weekend than the following celebrities.

OWEN WILSON

Rumors are flying regarding why actor Owen Wilson is still in the hospital today. According to news reports, the 38-year-old “Wedding Crashers” star was taken from his L.A. home by ambulance yesterday morning. Less than 24 hours later a hospital spokesperson announced the actor was in good condition, but refused to release details on why Wilson had to be admitted in the first place.

Adding fuel to the media fire was this statement Wilson issued earlier today:

“I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time.”

No one is revealing why Wilson remains hospitalized, but a neighbor told reporters a police car, fire truck and ambulance were outside the actor’s gated house around noon Sunday.

“These guys were kind of taking their time taking a stretcher out of the ambulance, then they went into the house,” the neighbor who lives directly across the street told reporters.

In the meantime, Wilson’s parents and famous brothers (Andrew and Luke) were spotted entering the hospital last night and again this morning sporting smiles, leading some to speculate that the “You, Me and Dupree” star is expected to make a full recovery.

HULK HOGAN

The Wilson’s were not the only celebrity family spending time at the hospital last night.

Across the country, in Florida, wrestling star Hulk Hogan rushed to a local hospital upon learning that his 17-year-old son had been injured in a serious car accident.

According to police reports, Hogan’s son Nick Bollea was one of two victims involved in the crash. Officers say Bollea was driving his yellow Toyota Supra down a four-lane highway in downtown Clearwater, Florida when the car’s rear tires hit a median. The car then careened off the road and struck a 25-ft.-tall palm tree.

The teen, best known from his appearances on his dad’s VH1 realty TV show “Hogan Knows Best,” was released from the hospital earlier today.

As for the 22-year-old passenger in Bollea’s car, police say he is in critical condition.
