Changing Layouts into Invitations and Announcements

I love making homemade announcement and invitations, but sometimes I just do not have the time to invest is a project. Creating Keepsakes is now offering an exciting new service where you can turn your layouts into small, ready to mail announcements or invitations.

Although I do really love to make my own cards and invitations, I think this new service could provide some new and fun possibilities.

The way this service works is you create either a 12 x 12 or an 8 1/2 X 11 layout. You then mail in the layout to the announcement service printer. They will then turn your layout into a digital file and then resize the image into either a 6 X 6 cared (from the 12 X 12 layout) or a 4.25 X 5.5 card (from an 8 1/2 X 11 inch layout.)

I think this would be a great way to do a Christmas card because you could include several pictures and a message easily on the 12 X 12 layout. Just remember that the size will be significantly smaller when finish, so you will need to u

This would also be a great way to create a baby announcement, graduation announcement or birthday party invitation.

Although I am somewhat familiar with some digital programs and could probably create something digitally, I think that this would be something really different because it would be a picture that looks like a scrapbook page.

If you are fairly good with the computer, have digital editing programs and a photo printer; this is a project you could attempt at home. But it seems like the times when you need an announcement or invitation are always the busiest and it would be nice to give something to people that you still created. This service just takes all of the work of mass production out of the process.

Hopefully this will be something that will be easy to use and save you a lot of time the next time you need to send out an invitation.
