The weather is turning warmer and for some people, that means one thing – cooking out! When we lived in an apartment in San Diego, our neighbor below us cooked out every night. I am not exaggerating, every night; he was cooking something on his grill.
If you are planning to cook out though, you might want to have a great marinade recipe for your meat. Here are a several recipes sure to add taste to your chicken, steak, brisket, or pork! Remember to soak the meat overnight in the refrigerator for best results. And don’t forget to brush your meat with the marinade as you grill!
Honey Curry Chicken Marinade
Mix up 1 cup of honey, 1/4 cup of olive oil, 3 teaspoons of curry, 1 teaspoon of ground pepper, and 1 teaspoon of crushed ginger.
Italian Dressing Chicken Marinade
Combine 1/3 cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of lemon juice, and one package of Italian dressing mix.
Great Beer Based Brisket Marinade
Mix one cup of Worcestershire sauce, 2 to 3 cans of beer (you can substitute non alcoholic if preferred), 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil, 3 tablespoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke, 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of Louisiana Hot Sauce, 1 tablespoon A1 Steak Sauce, and 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar.
Pork Marinade
Combine 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of crushed garlic, 1/2 teaspoon of ginger root, 2 tablespoons of dark brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of red pepper sauce (chili garlic sauce), 1 teaspoon of crushed red pepper, 2 tablespoons of sake, and 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame oil. **Note** Soak the pork in this marinade a maximum of four hours for best results.
Steak Marinade
Mix 1/2 cup of Worcestershire sauce, 1 cup of Italian salad dressing, 2 teaspoons of garlic pepper seasoning, and 1 cup of your favorite barbecue sauce.
