Cheddar Cheese Bread

Cheddar Cheese Bread
Great bread for sandwiches or yet by itself!

INGREDIENTS:
1 tsp sugar
1/2 cup warm water
1 tbs yeast
1 cup warm milk
2 tbs butter
1 large egg, beaten
4 cups all purpose flour
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt

DIRECTIONS:
1. Combine the 3 first ingredients for the yeast mixture and let stand 10 minutes.
2. Stir in warm milk, butter and beaten egg. In another bowl, combine 2 cups flour with cheese and salt.
3. Add the yeast mixture and beat for 5 minutes with an electric mixer.
4. Add the remaining flour and beat well with a wooden spoon.
5. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 45 minutes). Stir down and turn into 2 loaf pans.
6. Let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes). Bake at 375 for 30 to 40 minutes.
7. Remove immediately and cool on wire rack.
