Christian Character Curricululm: We Choose Virtues

We Choose Virtues is dedicated to instilling children with godly character. With whimsical artwork and an engaging style children easily learn the value of displaying virtue. In my years as a homeschooling mom, writer and curriculum reviewer, I am always faced with moms who want a curriculum focused on training up their children to display godly character and virtue. We Choose Virtues was developed by a preschool teacher and children’s pastor who saw this need and decided to fill the gap for her children and for your children. The program fits nicely into a homeschool, school or church environment.

If you do not know where to start then start simply by getting the Kids Virtue Poster to display in your home. It will set the stage for the expectations of character and actions by your children. It is small enough to fit on your refrigerator but big enough to have an impact. With bright bold colors and adorable illustrations of children it lists twelve virtues and gives a practical definition for a child to understand.

For instance:

I am Patient: I wait, and wait, and wait with a smile. I am not pushy or controlling and I don’t get frustrated or bored when others are slow!

To enhance this poster and give you direction the Virtue Cards are a great option. Each card features an adorable Virtue Kid with one virtue to focus on. It will give the practical definition and if you chose the faith based pack it will contain a verse. On the back you will find a challenge and a list of teachable moments. It will also give you a little story about the Virtue Kid on the front of the card. In my homeschool, I place the poster in my dining room/classroom and then place the virtue card of the characteristic we are focusing on above the poster. Then for a week we discover what that characteristic means and how to display it. You can begin this with children as young as toddlers. The earlier start the better!

We Choose Virtues had a variety of teaching tools, kits and options to suit your needs.
