Classy Scrapper Magazine Interview (2)

Here is part two of the interview I conducted with Ashley Smith, the creator of the new scrapbooking magazine, Classy Scrapper Magazine.

How will Classy Scrapper Magazine be different from other scrapbooking magazines?
Classy Scrapper Magazine’s main emphasis is the reader’s ability to use the publication as a practical tool, ideas that an “everyday” scrapbooker could accomplish both economically and timely. In addition, some editorial content will include ideas that are a step above, for those scrappers who want to work at a more advanced level.

Classy Scrapper Magazine is proud to offer an editorial staff with solid publishing background and industry experience. All of our writers and artists are fairly compensated leading to quality editorial content and inspiring layouts. We publish easily reproducible pages and bonus web site ideas and layouts.

Unlike large media corporations, Classy Scrapper Magazine is dedicated to the scrapbook community by networking with scrapbook stores, scrapbook clubs, scrapbook charity events and scrapbook conventions. Our focus is strictly scrapbooking.

Now that you have started this business, have you had any time for personal scrapbooking? Before I started working on Classy Scrapper, I scrapped everyday. Now I find I have to make time to scrapbook and it’s usually only 1-2 times a week. I miss it, but I also think the time off has been good for my creativity.

Do you plan on featuring simple, advanced, or a mixture of styles of layouts in your magazine? I plan to feature a variety of styles. I am really going to make a concentrated effort to include as many different scrappers as possible while featuring well-designed and beautiful layouts.
