Cleaning in 30 Minutes or Less: Weekends

We are finally at the end of my blog series on cleaning in 30 minutes or less. What better way to wrap it up than talking about the weekend.

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep my weekends as free as possible. That means I don’t want to spend hours cleaning. I would rather enjoy activities or just a day of relaxing.

Despite working full-time during the week, because of my routine, I am still able to tackle important areas of my home and leave my weekends relatively free of chores. That is always my number one goal.

But like I said in the beginning, there is one routine that I do seven days a week, my five minute wipe down of the kitchen and bathroom. Keeping those areas clean on a daily basis (at least for me) is very important.

I would say that the majority of the time, I don’t have to do any chores over the weekend. If it is has been a difficult week for whatever reason, such as being sick and I wasn’t able to get to my chores, then I will complete them on Saturday. But for the most part, I can simply enjoy my weekend.

However there is something important to keep in mind so that you don’t start off Monday with a house in complete disarray, setting you back. You still have to maintain. So over the weekend I try to do a really good job with that.

I don’t allow for messes or things to pile up. Everything gets put away, washed off, whatever it takes. For me there is nothing worse than starting off the first day of the work week with a trashed house.

Hopefully I have been able to encourage you to find a way to make cleaning take less time and spread out so that you can get to what’s important and enjoy your weekend. If you have any tips to offer, I would love to hear about them.
