Coffee filters are plentiful and extremely inexpensive. They can be purchased anywhere you can buy coffee. But did you know that you can use coffee filters for more than just filtering your coffee in your automatic coffee maker?
Here are my favorite ways, and I’ve actually tried most of them.
Window Cleaning
They make wonderful wipes for after you’ve cleaned a window. They won’t leave a streak or any particles behind.
Napkins/Paper Towels
They make great napkins or paper towels for quick cleanups.
Camera Duster
Use one to gently dust your lens on your camera. They can also be used as a light defuser on your camera’s flash. It will soften the brightness if you place it over the flash.
Pots
Place them in the bottom of pots before you plant. They soak up some of the moisture helping to keep the plant moist longer, as well as serving as a great stopper so dirt doesn’t leak out the bottom hole.
Storing Breakables
Put between dishes and bowls when packing or putting away into storage.
Dust Cloths
Cheap and disposable dust cloths are made from a coffee filter. Perfect for wood furniture and mirrors.
Strainer
They work as a strainer to get liquid out, or keep items out of liquid. If you have a cork that has broken into the wine bottle, use one to strain those cork pieces. The wine will flow right through the coffee filter leaving the cork bits behind.
Drip Catcher
You can place the stick of a Popsicle through the center of a coffee filter. It will help keep drips to a minimum and catches them all in one place. No more spots all over the floor or staining little hands.
