Consider Clip Art

If you are scrapbooking on a budget, then you should seriously consider embellishing with clip art. The computer generated graphics are some of the cheapest scrapbook embellishments around. And by cheap I mean free.

The Internet is teeming with websites that offer free clip art. The sheer variety of graphics allows you to flex your creative muscle while filling theme albums, from baby to military, holiday to wedding. I am quite loyal to ScrapbookScrapbook when it comes to downloading clip art. Not only does the site feature a ton of traditional graphics for back-to-school books and birthday albums, but there is also a section that gives you the option to customize the art to fit a personalized layout.

If you are working on a children’s scrapbook, then head over to Cute Colors. The site has free scrapbook clip art designed specifically for kids’ albums. Think teddy bears, cute bunnies, and fluffy chicks. Likewise, HP Scrapbooking also caters to scrappers who are looking to decorate a specific album. The free images available at the comprehensive site are tailored towards holiday and travel layouts.

Another bonus associated with free scrapbook clip art sites is that they provide directions on how you can use the images in traditional layouts. For example, if you fall in love with a specific design and decide that you have to, have to include it on your page, but you are not into digital scrapbooking, you can simply print out the image on acid-free paper or cardstock.

I’ve never had a problem finding the right clip art image to fit my needs. However, if you are looking for a really specific design and can’t find it on a scrapbooking website, then visit a general clip art resource, such as Microsoft Office Online. It is home to more than 150,000 free images sorted by category. The possibilities are virtually endless, as its data base features free clip art for almost every topic imaginable.
