Creating Keepsakes Challenges

Are you looking for some new ways to add a little more excitement to your creative process? I’ve just come across some great challenge ideas at the Creating Keepsakes website that could fill hours of scrapbooking fun.

They have two great challenge areas on the site. Both of them will help you generate new ideas and push your creativity to a new level.

The Random Challenge Generator is where you get to choose the categories where you would like to be challenged. Some of the categories are number of photos, titles and lettering, shapes, journaling style, number of embellishments and more. You can choose one or all of the challenges. You can also choose how many embellishments you want to include on your layout. After selecting the categories, you hit the “Create My Challenge” button and they give you a challenge. They even suggest the type of embellishment you should use such as a chipboard alphabet, die cut shapes or a frame. This will also encourage you to use up some supplies that you may usually overlook. This is really fun to play with and should add a fun new twist to your crop time.

The second area of the site that contains challenges is where they have complied all of the challenges used in the magazine and put them online. The challenges are divided into four categories: design, journaling, photography, and techniques. If there is one area where you want to improve or just experiment a little, check out the topics under that category. They share great tips in each article and include a layout demonstrating that challenge.

I think these challenges would be especially fun a crop. You would make it a “Challenge Crop” where your friends come prepared to meet challenges during the night. You could have some preselected challenges or you could use the CK Random Challenge Generator to select your challenge during the crop.

Enjoy the challenges!
