Is there any other reason to take a cruise? More than the chance to explore exotic locations and experience unforgettable sunsets, isn’t the best part of a cruise the opportunity to feast at all you-can-eat buffets at any hour?
If your dream is to eat your way across hundreds of miles of open water then consider booking a spot on Princess Cruises. The cruise line is rolling out a new fleetwide program that will impress even the most seasoned diners.
The Chef’s Table program is an elaborate dining experience, which costs $75 per person. It starts with a private champagne-and-appetizer reception for up to 10 guests in the ship’s galley, hosted by the ship’s chef. From there cruisers move to a private table in the dining room for a specially prepared, multi-course meal with paired wines. At the end of the meal the chef rejoins the group for dessert and to discuss the meal.
Cruise line execs say the new offering will debut on most Princess ships within a few months (it’s already available on the Crown Princess and Caribbean Princess). The only ships that won’t get it right away are the smaller Tahitian Princess, Pacific Princess and Royal Princess.
If you are looking for a way to work off the calories you consumed by participating in the Chef’s Table program you might consider boarding Britain-based P&O Cruises.
Forget about wave pools, rock climbing walls and on board ice skating rinks, if you are looking for the ultimate way to burn fat you need to get in line for the bungee trampoline.
If you have ever wanted to fly through the air as though you were in a circus show now’s your big chance. P&O Cruises just announced it is installing four bungee trampolines atop the 3,100-passenger Ventura, which debuts in April.
The trampolines allow passengers to soar through the air nearly 200 feet above sea level, and are part of what P&O Cruises is marketing as the first circus school at sea. Ask for “Cirque Ventura,” which will be located on the Ventura’s highest deck and run by instructors from the Generating Company, a UK-based circus firm.
