Dear Gentlemen, Mother’s Day Is Coming

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today I’d like to have a quick chat with the gentlemen because we have just under a month (4 weeks from yesterday to be exact) until May 13. Mother’s Day is a holiday that celebrates the mothers in our lives. Our mothers, our grandmothers, our mothers-in-laws and for our husbands – it’s a day to honor their wives and the mother of their children.

Get a Step Ahead of the Rest

You can get a step ahead of the rest this Mother’s Day by taking the time now to plan for what you will do this Mother’s Day. I’ve seen some great gift ideas and I’d like to share a few with you now so that you can get ready prior to the last minute rush.

Seeds & More

Consider creating a basket filled with seed packets, potting soil and even a couple of charming pots. For women with gardens this is a charming invitation to plant and plan another year together. Work together with your wife or your mother and plant a seed for every wonderful thing you can think she has done for you or your family. Tell her what each seed represents.

A Gift of Time

For my birthday, my husband gave me the wonderful gift of time. It was a terrific present and it allowed me the freedom of opportunity. Last year for Mother’s Day, my husband got up early in the morning and deep cleaned the house, took care of all the yard work, brought me coffee and waited on me hand and foot. His idea was to treat me the way I treated everyone else and to take care of me in the same way that I take care of my family. .

That’s a pretty cool idea for a gift. Gentlemen, the best presents are the ones that demonstrate how much you care about us and let us know that you see us as wives, mothers and more. Give appreciation where appreciation is due and we should do it more often than one day a year, but for now – let’s take advantage of the day to honor all of our mothers.

What did you do for last Mother’s Day?
