Decorative Storage for Kid’s Rooms

There are so many attractive options available today for home storage needs, that you can find something to complement most any space. However, when it comes to kid’s rooms, you can select from the available options and use them as is, or you can go one step further.

Those cute canvas storage bins are great and they come in many bright colors. They are so much nicer looking than plastic or cardboard boxes that need assembly and then soon fall apart (those may work in some instances, but sturdier options usually work better in kid’s rooms).

These as well as the canvas containers can easily be decorated to add a whimsical touch to your child’s room. Even if the main surface is painted, you can paint a contrasting border around the edges to give it a little more punch. You can also label containers with your child’s name, using fun and funky letter styles. Stamps and stencils work great for decorating either style and appliqués can be sewn or ironed on to canvas or other fabrics.

You can also find divided canvas hampers, generally used for sorting laundry, to use in kid’s rooms in place of toy boxes. They are now available in a variety of colors (Lakeside Collections has a blue/red or a pink/purple) and these too can be decorated to make them more fun and interesting.

Storage doesn’t have to be plain and boring any more. There are great choices out there, and you can add your own special touches to storage containers to make them even more attractive. You may even want to let your kids get in on the fun and add some of their own personality to their accessories and furnishings.
