Disney Cruises Update

castaway cay Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island and one of your destinations on cruises with the Dream

Exactly one year ago I first introduced you to the Disney Dream, Disney’s newest state-of-the-art cruise ship. With the Dream scheduled to make its maiden voyage at the end of January, many new details about the ship have been announced in anticipation of this event.

Poking around on the official website for the Dream reveals much of that information. The Dream includes two theaters, the Buena Vista and the Walt Disney, which are a cinema and live performance theater, respectively. The Buena Vista screens first-run films for its viewers, so they don’t miss out on new movies while vacationing at sea, and also displays 3-D movies.

The Walt Disney Theater also shows movies from time to time, premiering the new Disney films for Dream guests at sea that are also making their debut on land. The Walt Disney Theater also puts on live shows, the details of which were revealed by fan website Stitch Kingdom.

The shows running at the Walt Disney Theater are a new production called “Disney Believe” and cruise classics “Villains Tonight” and “Golden Mickeys.” The new show “Disney Believe” runs for 50 minutes, incorporating 20 popular Disney characters such as Genie, Cinderella, and Peter Pan.

The new show tells the story of botanist Dr. Cornelius Greenway, who is so obsessed with perfecting his garden that he forgets his daughter Sophia’s birthday. Genie appears to grant Sophia’s birthday wish, and the zany blue giant takes Dr. Greenway on a magical journey through the worlds of Disney so he can again connect with his daughter.

If all this is making you interested in vacationing aboard the Disney Dream, you can check out its official website for even more information and to make a reservation for a trip. Before you look into booking a room aboard the Dream, or any of Disney’s other cruise ships for that matter, you should first check out the Disney Cruise special offers page.

Like the special offers pages for the Disney parks, the Disney cruise special offers page presents a variety of rotating discounts for trips on the cruises. Because the specials change from time to time, whenever you are thinking about taking a Disney cruise you should check the page for the latest offers.

Currently the Disney Cruise special offers are for the Mediterranean cruises, Florida residents, and members of the United States military. Booking now for a Mediterranean cruise affords guests tickets as low as $875/person for a family of four on the 7-Night Mediterranean cruise.

The soon-to-expire Florida residents deal allows those who live in Florida to book cruises for certain dates at discounted rates. Residents can cruise for three nights in the Bahamas starting on December 2 for $579/ticket, or spend seven nights sailing through the Caribbean starting on December 30 for $1,639/ticket. This special Florida residents deal ends in two days on Sunday November 21, so if you’re interested book now.

Similar to the special military discounts offered at the domestic parks, the cruises now offer deals for military personnel. These deals also end in two days, so be sure to check the cruise special offers website for details ASAP on the many military discounts offered.

The special offers, as implied above, are always changing, so be sure to frequently check back to the Disney cruise website for information on current discounts.
