Disney Dreams Can Come True

On October 4th, a family got to enjoy the experience of playing in the Magic Kingdom all by themselves. This is the first time in history that guests of the park were able to walk in and see Main Street, U.S.A. empty. There were no other guests. There was no Disney cast members. There was just this long red carpet stretching out to welcome them to the most magical place on Earth.

The family was given their pick of attractions and they endured no lines. This remarkable moment in Disney history is a part of the Disney’s “Year of a Million Dreams” celebration launch. The goal is to literally launch a million dreams for guests at Walt Disney World and California’s Disneyland Resort.

The Spangler family won the privilege in an Internet contest and they are considered the ultimate Magic Kingdom VIPs. During this very rare event, 1,500 cast members and Disney characters appeared when the Spangler family reached the center of Main Street U.S.A. and the speakers began to play “Be Our Guest.”

This experience really does sound like a dream come true and for the children Derick (age 13) and Ashley (age 11) – these are memories they are not likely to ever forget. They had the parks to themselves for the whole morning. I can’t even begin to imagine how much fun that must have been.

If you’ve ever had a Disney dream and thought it couldn’t happen – this just might be your year. I didn’t enter in the contest on the Disney website, many of you probably didn’t either, thinking when do these things ever come true? I’m pretty sure the Spanglers felt the same way and they got to experience something that most of us have barely been able to imagine.

Throughout the next year, Disney guests will be randomly selected to have their dreams come true and some lucky guests will get to spend a night inside the royal suite in Cinderella’s Castle. Are you planning a trip to Disney World this year?

This might just be the year to do it. After all, imagine if yours were the dreams that got to come true – Disney is aiming to make a million or more of them come true if they have their way. If you can’t get to the parks, check out www.disneyparks.com/rules where you can mail in an entry to become a prizewinner.
