Do You Think Cheryl Burke is Fat?

The general consensus amongst responders in the blogosphere is a hearty “YES!”

Mind you the word “fat” as used on these Internet polls doesn’t mean real-world fat, rather it refers to “fat” as defined by Hollywood standards.

So here we go again. Move over Tyra Banks and Jennifer Love Hewitt you’ve got company in the celebrity chub club… at least as far as millions of web users are concerned.

If you don’t spend much time surfing the net then you likely have no clue that two-time “Dancing with the Stars” champ Cheryl Burke has become the target of thousands of cut-throat gabbers infiltrating the Internet via forums and blogs. Said users have attacked the pro dancer for adding a few inches to her frame since last season. And that’s putting it mildly. Most have not been shy about commenting about Burke’s “thunder thighs,” “pudgy arms” and all the “junk in her porky trunk.”

Interestingly, instead of ignoring the unflattering jabs at her figure, Burke is fighting back in the media telling PEOPLE magazine that she has indeed gained a few pounds in the last few months, but “You don’t have to be anorexic to be beautiful.”

Girl, why do you even fan the flames?

After Burke hit back at bloggers another round of even more despicable comments were lodged and now the dancer’s friends and colleagues are going public to support the “DWTS” star.

“That’s the one part of the Internet that I find at times to be very unsettling. It encourages this sort of cowardly unkindness,” DWTS judge Carrie Ann Inaba told reporters. “It takes a lot of courage for people to stand tall just as they are. She is a beautiful talented girl who is a role model to many girls out there for just being who she is.”

Burke’s season six partner, actor Cristian de la Fuente told reporters he loves the way the 24-year-old hoofer looks and she should simply ignore the vicious comments.

“We live in a very plastic society where everybody needs to be a size zero. If somebody gains five pounds or ten pounds it’s not a crime,” de la Fuente says. “It’s life.”

Here are a few of the bikini photos that got the “Cheryl is Fat” ball rolling. Feel free to weigh in with your thoughts.
