Driving too Fast

It never fails that when I plan something it has to be during a rush hour right? I know I’ve talked about this before, but honestly I thought that was after work. Today, we decided to go get a bite to eat over at our favorite pizza joint. What we didn’t plan was the traffic. Okay, technically I thought about it, begged him to go the long way thinking the traffic would be better near home.

Guess what? It wouldn’t have mattered, the minute we left the base we were stopped by the traffic in all directions. Akkk! I thought traffic only hit around 5 or 4:30 p.m. at the earliest. It was currently 4 o’clock, not 4:30p.m. and traffic was already bad. I’m glad I had no appointments.

As we waited, I noticed how impatient some can be once again. In his nice, yellow cobalt as he swerved in and out of traffic only get a few cars ahead each time. Ugh, I hate people that won’t wait. I wondered if he was on a deadline, maybe he had to be at work, or maybe he was just some idiot trying to cause a wreck. It’s people like Mr. Yellow Cobalt that hurt people and of course there wasn’t a cop in sight. I wondered if he had one of those police trackers in his car, that would explain a lot about his behavior. We waited in our long line that only moved at a snail’s pace, in the end he was only a few cars ahead of us.

That’s one of the biggest problems when you have to leave the base, it’s the traffic but the worst thing is the impatient people. Don’t get me wrong…half those impatient people are military and that just makes me even more mad. I guess they get so use to speed limits that they MUST follow on base, or they lose their right to drive on base, that they decide to go as fast as they can off base. In the end it only causes accidents, and for those lucky enough you may get one or two car lengths ahead. Think about the way you drive, before someone really gets hurt.
