End of the Month Check In

Well, it’s an end of another month. It’s also the end of the shortest month of year. Hardly seems fair to give a dieter a short month. So we are two months into a brand new year. This is about the time when New Year’s resolutions start to fizzle and overwhelmed and discouraged dieters open up boxes of cookies and wait for another Monday. How are you doing so far?

To recap the month, we have discussed a variety of work out dvds. Have you decided to try any of the out? We also discussed using herbs to assist in weight loss. If you have tried new recipes using these herbs or have more insight, please let me know, I am very interested. Forming a weight loss support group was another topic of interest. I am curious to see if anyone has tried to form one. If so, what have been your challenges? What are your successes? How are you doing it?

So far this month, I am doing well. My eating has improved. I eat great in the warmer months but cold weather is my enemy. It makes me want to curl up in a ball, drink hot cocoa with real whipped cream and watch movies all day. I am so unmotivated in the cold. For a while I was buying salad ingredients only to see them go bad in my fridge. I also hate eating salad in the cold. But, lately I have broken down those barriers because that only displayed a bad attitude and weakness. So, I have forced myself to eat breakfast, eat salad, and not think about the temperature outside. I have noticed that being more active has given me more energy and even my knee injury improves with more exercise and activity. My knee still does not like steps and my other knee is beginning to have problems with stairs. My plan is to strengthen the muscles around my knees and keep active.
